Scholarship Application Instructions
Guidelines for a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.)
Doctoral scholarships are available to PhD students in years 1 -4 who have high grades (above 80) in their Master's (GPA and thesis) and are making progress in their research, as confirmed by their advisor. Outstanding students may apply for a merit-based scholarship by completing only Part A of the application form.
Students applying also due to financial need must complete Part B of the form and attach the relevant pay stubs.
Second-year students are eligible for the scholarship only after submitting their research proposal to their department. The Scholarships Office must be updated once the proposal has been submitted.
Scholarship applications must be submitted through the InBar online system.
Students Eligible to Apply for a Scholarship:
Enrolled in years 1–4 of their doctoral studies.
Have a Master’s GPA above 80, and a thesis grade above 80.
Do not receive other funding for their studies.
Resident of Israel.
According to university policy, scholarship funds are transferred directly to the student’s tuition account.
Exact Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, and Medicine faculties students – applications are handled directly by the respective departments.
Students who have not yet been accepted into the program may apply; applications will be considered upon admission (subject to available budget)
Scholarships will only be granted after submission of the research proposal to the department (except for first-year students).
The committee may reject applications that are incomplete or missing required documents.
In case of withdrawal from studies, the scholarship will be cancelled.

Guidelines for a Master’s Degree (M.A.)
Master’s scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in either the thesis track, based on academic achievements, or the non-thesis track, based on socioeconomic status, during their first or second year of study. Scholarships are granted considering academic excellence—high grades in both bachelor’s and master’s studies, achievements in research work—as well as socioeconomic circumstances.
Students in their second year are eligible for scholarships only after submitting their research proposal to the department.
The Scholarships Office must be notified once the proposal is submitted.
External foundations award scholarships according to their donors’ criteria, only.
Scholarship applications must be submitted through the In-Bar system.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be enrolled in either the thesis track or the non-thesis track based on socioeconomic need, submitting appropriate documentation and a personal statement.
Not be in a make-up or remedial status.
Be paying full tuition fees.
Be in their first or second year of study.
Not receive funding from other sources.
Have a B.A. average above 80.
Israeli resident status.
Be enrolled in only one master’s program.
Study at Bar Ilan University in the Ramat Gan campus.
Exact Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, and Medicine faculties students are handled directly by their respective departments.
Students applying on socioeconomic basis must provide payslips and a personal statement.
The committee may reject applications lacking proper documentation or incomplete forms.
According to university policy, scholarships are credited directly to the student’s tuition account.
Scholarships will be cancelled if the student discontinues their studies at Bar Ilan University.
If a student transfers to the non-thesis track, eligibility for scholarships will be reviewed based on socioeconomic status.

Undergraduate Scholarships (B.A.)
Undergraduate scholarships are awarded to students from low-income families.
The scholarship committee offers financial aid from the university’s budget and external funds.
Scholarships are granted based on per capita family income and academic performance.

Academic achievements
Military reserve service
National or military service
Scholarships from external donors are awarded according to donor-specific criteria.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted via the IN-BAR system.

Alimony payments
Pension documentation
Other sources of income
If married: Spouse’s salary slip and Form 106
Proof of dormitory housing rent
Rental contract (as tenant, landlord, or both)
Recent mortgage payment confirmation
Childcare/kindergarten expenses
Tuition fees for yeshiva or boarding school
Proof of enrollment for siblings or children
Vehicle registration
Military discharge certificate and combat/support soldier certificate (if applicable)

Note: Students in the six-year medical program may apply for a scholarship only during years 1–3.
